The Rapid City Rush is a professional ice hockey team based in Rapid City, South Dakota. Founded in 2008, the Rush began their journey in the Central Hockey League (CHL) and quickly established themselves as a competitive force in the league. The team's inaugural season was marked by a strong performance, culminating in a playoff appearance. In 2014, the Rush made a significant move when they joined the ECHL, a league that boasts a higher level of competition and serves as a primary developmental league for the NHL.
